18-Wheeler-300x199 Ex-Trucking Employee Reveals Safety Violations After Deadly Wreck

As truck accident lawyers in Nashville, we want those that have been injured by a big truck to know that the trucking company can often be held accountable.  It might be hard to believe but some of these companies choose profit over safety and put incredibly dangerous vehicles out on our streets.  You don’t just have to take our word for it either because a high-ranking employee at a cement company spoke out about this very fact.

A terrible tragedy that occurred in March of 2013 might have been avoided if the company that owned the cement truck hadn’t cut corners.  A co-founder of that company has now come out and said that the company knew the truck that caused a deadly accident had bad brakes but did nothing – worse they even tried to cover it up.  A man was ultimately struck by the truck when it went out of control nearly two years ago and lost his life.

The general manager at the cement company was allowing trucks with bad brakes to remain on the road according to the employee.  In this case the truck that was in the accident had busted air brakes.  “If they’d gotten the brakes fixed, we wouldn’t be here today,” he said in a deposition.  He went on to say that the company tried to pay him off to keep quiet about the incident and was pushed out of the company when he wouldn’t.

The company has denied these claims, but litigation against the company resulting from the 2013 incident continues.
