An evening motorcycle crash happened in Greenbrier on Thursday, July 23. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that a 2010 Honda motorcycle was northbound on Distillery Road when it left the roadway for unknown reasons.
Dispatchers sent Greenbrier firefighters to the scene. They performed CPR on a 45-year-old man who was not breathing. However, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and authorities later pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the Smokey Barn News. He was operating the bike at the time of the crash.

His 47-year-old female passenger sustained critical injuries. Emergency personnel airlifted her to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville where authorities describe her condition as very critical.
Investigators continue to investigate this fatal motorcycle accident. The report from state troopers states that neither individual was wearing a helmet.
